Dublin is such a great city for a citytrip in Europe! There are so many things to do. Whether you like history, art or party, you will find what you want in the Irish capital. And the Irish are so so friendly! Discover my top 5 of things to do in Dublin.
#1 Learn more about the Vikings at Dublinia
Dublinia is a museum about the medieval period in Dublin, super interesting to learn more about the history of the Vikings. It’s not boring at all! It’s interactive and fun. There are some games, animations, videos… I really enjoyed it.
#2 Visit one of the most beautiful libraries
The Trinity College in Dublin is one of the most famous universities worldwide. It’s also known thanks to the Book of Kells, a religious book which is exposed in the university’s library. I was a bit disappointed by the museum, but the visit is worth it for the big room of the library. It’s impressive!
#3 Go out in Temple Bar
The place to go to have a drink is obviously Temple Bar! Temple Bar is the name of the area, but also the name of the famous pub. Musicians are playing almost every day and everywhere. It’s super cool to go out there and enjoy a drink with traditional Irish music!
#4 Eat the best Fish & Chips of Ireland
I’ve been twice in Dublin and I’ve been twice to the same place to eat fish and chips: Leo Burdock. This place is considered as one of the best in the country! Lots of celebrities have been there: U2, Liam Neeson, Tom Cruise, Mick Jagger and many more. It’s delicious, I totally recommend it! There is no table inside, you take your food away and enjoy it on a bench in the cathedral’s park just across the street.
#5 Look for Street Art
I’ve never been into street art really, but I had some free time in Dublin and I ended up looking for paintings on the walls. I was quite surprised about how much I liked it! It’s definitely something that I will look for during my next trips.
And you, have you ever been to Dublin? Did you like it?
