Paris is the 3rd most visited city in the world! If you are from Europe, I bet you’ve been there already. And if you’re not from Europe, I bet Paris is on the top of your travel wishlist, am I right? Being from Belgium, Paris was super close for me and I’ve been there 5 times! In this article, I introduce you 10 things to do in Paris.
#1 Eiffel Tower
Obviously, when you go to Paris, you want to see the Eiffel Tower! I advise you to go there twice. During the day and during the night, for the lights. Or just go there before the sunset and wait until it’s completely dark. If you’d like to enjoy a nice view of Paris, go on top of the tower. You have 2 options: the lift or the stairs.
#2 Notre Dame
The cathedral used by the writer Victor Hugo in his famous book Notre Dame de Paris is worth the visit. The interior is beautiful. You can also climb to the top. I didn’t do it, there were way too many people and I didn’t have time.
#3 Sacré-Cœur Basilica
The Sacré-Coeur is another famous Parisian basilica. It’s located in the Montmartre area. Both the inside and the outside are beautiful.
Montmartre is also well-known for the Tertre Square. Lots of artists are drawing and painting there. You can ask one of them to draw your portrait so you will have a nice souvenir of Paris forever!
#5 Louvre Museum
The Louvre is the most visited museum in the world! Even if art is not your cup of tea, I recommend you to go there. If you like art, then you will love it! I must admit that I was disappointed by the Mona Lisa… but amazed by lots of other paintings!
#6 Orsay Museum
Less known that Louvre, the Orsay Museum is still a GREAT museum. I really enjoyed it. You will find paintings by Van Gogh, Manet, Millet, Monet, Rousseau and many more! The ticket costs 12€, but you can visit the museum for free every first Sunday of the month.
#7 Boat tour
If the weather is nice, book a boat tour on the Seine! If you read my other articles, you might know that I do it wherever I can! I think it’s a nice way to discover the city. You see a lot of beautiful places, you learn more about the city’s history and moreover, it’s relaxing.
#8 Champs Elysées
The singer Joe Dassin was singing il y a tout ce que vous voulez au Champs-Élysées, meaning there is everything you want in Champs-Élysées. Indeed, there are a lot of things there: shops like H&M, Zara, but also luxury brands like Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Longchamps and many more, restaurants, cafés, souvenir shops… and the big Triumph Arc at the end of the avenue.
#9 Grévin Museum
The Grévin Museum is a wax museum. You will find there wax statues of lots of celebrities: actors, singers, politicians… A nice and fun visit to do in Paris!
If you still have time, plan to visit the Versailles castle! The old royal castle is very beautiful. You can visit the inside and the gardens and learn more about the French royalty’s history. It’s worth it!
Bon amusement à Paris! 🙂
